Job description

As a Food Scientist you will play a pivotal role in driving process development and improvement initiatives.Your primary responsibility will be to support a core technology component area for our business and customers, ensuring alignment with business-defined technology needs.You will lead and execute complex research projects, employing multidisciplinary approaches to deliver innovative solutions.This position demands expertise in process development, process improvement, and piloting efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise to project teams and functions, offering technical guidance and scientific insight for new process development and process improvements.
  • Ensure projects progress according to plan, diligently documenting and communicating results.
  • Lead efforts in new product innovation, driving high-performance outcomes.
  • Identify and spearhead evaluations of external process or manufacturing technologies and facilities.
  • Scout and develop new process or product opportunities that contribute to business growth and create distinct value.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to subordinate groups.
  • Support and adhere to corporate and local safety, food safety, and product safety policies and procedures.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most intricate matters to appropriate staff.

Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer will deliver robust and compliant electrical and software process improvements and support or lead multiple engineering projects throughout the Joris Ide division.
He reports hierarchically to the Maintenance Manager of the site this is allocated to.Functional reporting is to the Group senior controls Engineer.

What you do

Main objectives

  • Support or Lead engineering projects at any manufacturing line
  • Support, initiate, deploy and sign off process improvement and efficiency improvement modifications to manufacturing systems at insulated panel lines and single skin lines
  • To carry out design and testing tasks on project proposals
  • Assist the local site engineering and production department with any major breakdowns or faults at short notice

Main responsibilities of the role

  • To carry out specific engineering tasks delegated to him by the Group senior controls Engineer as appropriate
  • Provide software/electrical engineering discipline input into divisional project/design teams executing specific projects on site
  • Produce electrical engineering design and project support deliverables in line with Kingspan engineering standards
  • Recommend and support value added improvement initiatives where appropriate
  • To work closely with Production, Quality, Safety and other Controls team members to ensure that plant priorities are met.
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the Controls department and take a pro-active approach contributing to the meetings from an engineering perspective
  • Attend training to develop relevant self-knowledge and technical skills
  • To support the local sites manufacturing process by being proactive on the correction and modification of reoccurring machine processing faults
  • In case of modifications on machinery, assure the correct safety performance level of the installation according to the CE machinery regulations.
Who you are
  • Profound knowledge of Siemens TIA, with of focus on PLC and motion
  • Understanding of communication protocols via SCADA, SQL, AWS and SAP-databases.
  • Knowledge of SQL.AWS experience is a plus
  • Prepared to travel 50% of the time within Europe to internal companies

      • Material trend survey: benchmarking, investigation on new material, competitors products and selection of materials.
      • Material Quality approval for prototypes: Material properties and durability evaluation.
      • Process Quality confirmation: check and evaluation of catalogues and products, initiate material switchover process and propose improvements.Participation to product quality test.
      • Standardization of processes and procedures with overseas sites.
      • Technical support for internal departments and customers and provide internal trainings.
