Wonen en werken in Maleisië
Tijdens de week wonen we in de stad Kota Kinabalu. Daar werkt mijn vrouw. We wonen er in een appartement met een gemeenschappelijke fitness en zwembad. Een frisse duik doet deugd als de temperatuur boven de 30 graden stijgt. In het weekend trekken we weg van de drukte, richting de bergen.

Steven: pensioen in Japan
Dit is een traditioneel heilig Japans gezegde: O-kyakusama wa, O-kamisama desu. Alles leek zoals vroeger en zoals het Japan dat ik al meer dan 30 jaar ken. Maar na wat sake en Japanse whisky kwamen de tongen los en kreeg ik plots een plensbui van frustraties.
