The position
In your role as Finance & Administration Manager you will work closely with the gallery Director and the European Partner.You will manage one accounting officer and report to the Group CFO based overseas.You will become accountable for the accounting, financial reporting, corporate housekeeping and the development of improved processes and procedures.This means that you will liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including the accounting firm and payroll provider.
Your tasks and responsibilities
The job content of the Finance & Administration Manager will include (non-exhaustive):
- Manage and coach one accounting officer who is in charge of all financial administrative tasks and duties, including tailor made credit control and the collection of Anti-Money Laundering documentation;
- Responsible for the bookkeeping and treasury management;
- Responsible for preparing and updating the short and medium-term cash flow;
- Responsible for the analysis and control of all sales made, as well as the cost allocations of each artwork sold;
- Responsible for stock control and reporting on the acquisition of works for stock and any other operations involving artworks, including partnerships with third parties;
- Responsible for preparing and providing management information to the management and other stakeholders;
- Responsible for reviewing and analysing the monthly financial statements in search of errors/omissions/opportunities, especially with regard to taxes;
- Development and implementation, together with consultancy, of procedures and policies necessary to improve controls and efficiencies;
- Responsible for preparing the budget, together with the gallery Director and Partners, as well as monthly monitoring of the budgeted vs actuals;
- Responsible for continuous improvements in the financial processes and in the best use of all the functionalities of the existing systems.
