The Business Development Manager develops sales-concepts, by identifying potential products, conducting market research, generating product requirements and determining specifications.Next to this, he/she helps build the pricing-strategy, and sets time-integrated plans for product introduction.As the Business Developer is working in close cooperation with the sales and product management teams, he/she is also developing distribution-channels and ensures commercial co-existence with clients.In this job, you will spend most of your time in the field.
Key areas of responsibilities and accountability
- Prospecting and determining clients' needs and desires by specifying the clients' product and production process
- Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising product packaging changes.
- Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
- Obtains product market share by working with sales director to develop product sales strategies.
- Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
- Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales and marketing.
- Completes market operational requirements by scheduling technical trainings of employees and third party salespeople of new products; following up on work results.
- Maintains product management results by counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising sales results.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Prospects, initiates and follows up new sales projects in the market in a progressive, consistent and structural way
