Functieomschrijving
You will be modelling a highly diverse set of treatment processes and plants for water industry
clients worldwide, with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving waterquality,
saving resources and making plants smart. By mastering and applying modelling techniques such
as bio/chemical kinetics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) or the combination, you will unravel
what is happening inside water treatment systems and will be able to improve processes
significantly. After a while, you will be able to execute rather spectacular modelling work, for which
AM-Team is known. The complexity of the modelling projects will grow along with and will be
adjusted to your modelling knowledge and experience. You will also be developing a broad
knowledge on existing and novel industry processes.
The objectives of your modelling projects will be highly case dependent, but mostly you will make
clients happy by saving costs, saving energy, improving technology and competitive position,
accelerating technology development, and improving process performance and reliability.
Main responsibilities
• Project execution & delivery: Executing multiple modelling projects & delivery of the
project outcomes to the customers in the shape of reports and presentations. Typically,

o Understanding project objectives & gathering relevant data
o Planning project milestones and executing projects in a stepwise & collaborative
manner.
o Organizing client meetings and preparing presentations & reports.
o Supporting other team members with expert knowledge.
• Technical communication & dissemination: Internal & external communication on
projects and at international events or in online webinars. Writing technical abstracts,
journal articles and social media technical blogs or posts.
• Research & development: Developing new modelling solutions tailored to market needs
in close collaboration with the team. Creating templates and SOPs for existing modelling
methods.
• Coaching & training: Continuous learning & improving through active trainings. Also
coaching others.
You will be guided by senior colleagues at the start and will gradually grow and do your work more
autonomously.
Profiel
• Has at least 2-3 years of water or wastewater industry or relevant academic experience
related to working with modelling projects.
• Has at least MSc in (environmental/bioscience or relevant) engineering. Has strong
understanding and educational background of water treatment processes and/or
modelling of these processes. Knowledge and experience with CFD modelling is a plus.
