For a large-scale industrial project in the Port of Antwerp, we are looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector.

You will join an international project environment within the petrochemical industry, where English is the main working language. Your focus will be on ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation works are executed safely, correctly and in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards and approved documentation.

Your role

As an E&I Inspector, you will be closely involved in the construction, installation and pre-commissioning phases of the project. You will spend a significant amount of time in the field, following up contractors and verifying the quality and compliance of the E&I installations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting electrical and instrumentation installations during construction and completion
• Verifying installations against approved drawings, specifications, datasheets and relevant standards
• Checking cable routing, cable trays, cable pulling and termination
• Inspecting junction boxes, field instruments, panels, switchgear and other E&I equipment
• Checking instrument installation, impulse tubing and associated hook-ups
• Verifying grounding, bonding and earthing installations
• Performing and witnessing electrical and instrumentation tests
• Following up loop checks, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests and functional testing
• Verifying installations in hazardous areas and checking compliance with ATEX requirements
• Reviewing inspection and test records, punch lists and construction documentation
• Identifying non-conformities and following up corrective actions with contractors
• Supporting mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities
• Coordinating closely with construction, engineering, QA/QC and commissioning teams
