Functieomschrijving
Join Traxial (A Magnax Company) as a Mechanical Design Engineer and take ownership of Precision Gearboxes, working from concept to prototype and production.
This is what you'll do:
- Design precision gearboxes for new product applications, from concept to production.
- Design mechanical components: gears, shafts, bearings, housings, seals, and other transmission elements.
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings, applying industry standards and GD&T.
- Perform mechanical calculations and design verification.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors on components, manufacturing processes, tolerances, materials, and specs.
- Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of gearbox and actuator designs.
Profiel
- Master's in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years designing gearboxes, drivetrains, or precision mechanical components.
- Proficient in Siemens NX, Teamcenter PDM, or similar CAD/PDM tools.
- Knowledge of gearbox materials and manufacturing: gear machining, heat treatment, tolerancing, DFM principles.
- Strong analytical skills, including gear sizing, shaft strength, and bearing selection calculations.
- Romax, KISSsoft, or similar gear calculation software is a plus.
- Existing work authorization in Belgium required.
- Team player, creative, can-do mindset, fluent English.
