Jobomschrijving
In this role you will report to the head of finance and will be carrying out the following tasks:
- Lead the accounting function and ensure compliant financial reporting.
- Own the month-end and year-end close process.
- Manage, coach, and develop the accounting team (2 direct reports).
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger.
- Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors.
- Oversee Belgian and European VAT compliance.
- Advise on accounting policies and complex transactions.
- Review reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and key journal entries.
- Improve processes, controls, and accounting procedures.
- Drive finance systems, automation, and AI initiatives.
Profiel
The ideal candidate matches the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting
- Fluent in French or Dutch and English
- Strong experience in VAT compliance and tax declarations.
- Experience with multi-country VAT registrations and compliance is a strong asset.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 is a plus
- Strong communication skills
