The Chapter Lead will play a crucial role in balancing technical expertise with people management.This position involves providing technical guidance, fostering personal and professional development, and ensuring collaboration and alignment within and across teams.The Chapter Lead will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that support business goals and enhance customer experience.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to Chapter members in a specific domain (e.g., software development, quality assurance etc).
  • Ensure best practices and high standards are maintained within the Chapter.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies to provide relevant advice and direction.

People Management:

  • Focus on the personal and professional development of team members through mentoring, career development, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Organize optimal workforce planning to meet the needs of various Squads.

Facilitating Collaboration:

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration within the Chapter.
  • Work with key business customers, stakeholders, and external partners to identify and address IT needs.
  • Interact with Project Managers, Product Owners, Architecture, Solution Design, Services Delivery, and Support teams to ensure quality product development.

Bridging Squads and Chapters:

  • Maintain coherence and alignment across different Squads, ensuring consistent technical and quality standards.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between Squads and Chapters.

Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Participate in recruitment and staffing decisions to ensure the right skills are available within the Chapter.
  • Assess the span of control and adjust the Chapter structure as needed to maintain manageability.

Delivery:

  • Ensure end-to-end IT ownership for projects within the business area portfolio.
  • Engage with Project Managers to create, plan, track, and execute overall project plans.
  • Support the creation of business cases and contribute to project steering committees with clear roles and responsibilities.

Application Management:

  • Oversee application lifecycle management for all applications in the portfolio.
  • Advise on risk management, ensuring effective detection, reporting, and mitigation.
  • Support portfolio management and optimize capacity planning.

Financials:

  • Create and manage departmental budget proposals aligned with business strategy and priorities.
  • Hold financial accountability, including estimation, forecasting, and reporting on OPEX and CAPEX budget actuals.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.

The primary role of the SAP Plan To Maintain Project Manager is to work closely with customers to drive the successful delivery of IT projects, particularly around SAP S/4 Asset Management (EAM , IAM, IBP).

The Project Manager will facilitate the management of scope for the customer’s requirements, plan implementations and deliver to the planned scope and budget.

As Project Manager you will be part of the Project Delivery Service and report to your Team Lead, the Business Area Lead of the Plan to Maintain process.

Key responsibilities

  • Leads project delivery from beginning to end;
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders;
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents following the company’s standard;
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary as per defined process;
  • Ensure that project meets it’s deliverables in agreed schedule, as per the scope, within stipulated budget and as per the quality standards;
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team lead and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
  • Ensures project or service scope and deliverables are defined and agreed with all relevant parties;
  • Liaise with client (SNCB/MNBS), SAP and IT Teams on an ongoing basis;
  • Diagnoses and evaluates potential risks and issues throughout the project and executes appropriate plans to mitigate them.Reports regularly to the Team Lead and Stakeholders with regard to risks,

Context


For its Transformation portfolio (composed of several transformation projects/programs contributing to the realization of our strategy) and particularly for projects with IT components and related to market scenario management and asset management within a strategic program linked to SMART Meters, the consultant will need to:

  • Evaluate the needs and impacts of various ongoing projects and initiatives in terms of change management, with possible adjustments to be considered based on the needs;
  • Define an appropriate change plan in close collaboration with the team lead and program/project managers;
  • Identify the activities and resources needed to successfully carry out change activities;
  • Monitor change activities using appropriate tools;
  • Actively manage and implement a stakeholder plan;
  • Define and implement communication actions;
  • Define and implement potential training actions;
  • Define communication plans, ensure their implementation and monitoring, through clear and appealing communication materials (in collaboration with the communication department);
  • Create clear, insightful, and engaging frequently asked questions;
  • Maintain and improve communication channels like Share Point, Teams;
  • Organize events;
  • Define and support project documentation actions for end users.

 

Environnment

The DBS department provides a solid, agile, and secure IT environment and tools that contribute to the achievement of the client's mission and strategic objectives.

Within the DBS department, the Corporate PMO team provides a framework (processes and tools) to operationalize the client's strategy by supporting projects/programs and the Executive Committee in managing the Transformation portfolio in terms of project/program management and change management.It also ensures quality review related to Project/Program/Portfolio Management and Change Management activities.

The mission does not take place in a specific technical context apart from the usual communication and change management tools.
